Avec la préparation de notre roadtrip en Californie, je cherche des motels au style années 60, ils sont toujours un peu inquiétants mais résolument attirants pour leur design fonctionnel et minimaliste et leur signalétique...
Tant de références au cinéma américain ('Psychose', 'No country for old men', 'Paris Texas', 'True Romance'...)
Dans les motels revisités, encore des fauteils acapulco, chaises Solair et Sunshades Mid Century...

Les routes californiennes ont encore des vestiges de design googie (ou rétro-futuristique) caractérisé par des formes géométriques, des matériaux modernes, des enseignes colorées. J'espère pouvoir voir des bâtiments comme ça!

I am now preparing our roadtrip to California and looking for nice places to stay in. Roadside motels are always a bit scary but a few of them have been redesigned keeping a 60s retro style, they look so great with their simple and basic design and their big signs. 

So many movie scenes occur in motel rooms ('Psycho', ' No country for old men', 'Paris Texas', 'True Romance'...)...

Again, Acapulco seats, Solair chairs and Mid Century Sunshades in redesigned hotels.

Some examples of the Googie style still remain, characterized by geometric shapes, futuristic architecture and big signboards. I hope to find buildings like that during our roadtrip!
